At 15 years old, Janine went to her doctor for a general checkup and before she knew what was happening, found herself stuck in the ICU. That was the beginning of her journey battling anorexia nervosa. Since then, she has worked through the high’s and low’s of recovery to come to the realization that what began as a fight for her life has become a fight for her own freedom.

Eating disorders are among the deadliest mental illnesses, second only to opioid overdose.
